Series III Land Rovers were manufactured between 1971 and 1985. Although the
shape was almost unchanged from the series II, it was a far more user-friendly
vehicle; a new synchronised gearbox and a better heater were added. This is the
most popular of the series models. They have leaf spring suspension and all
round drum brakes. Although a lot more up to date than the series II they are
still happier off-road. Suffice to say the ride and feel of them is not
comparable with cars of today, although modern parabolic springs help the ride,
but still a popular choice none the less. Our
